Architecture, Urban Planning And Heritage In The Global South
The Master Design for Development (MDfD) is a distinctive Higher Education programme (First and Second Level Specialising Master’s Course) created to respond to the increasing need for design professionals able to engage with the complex realities of the Global South. It provides knowledge and skills focused on the governance and quality of urban and regional development, while also offering the essential tools to operate within major agencies and international organizations.
The Master is promoted by the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at Politecnico di Milano, with the contribution of leading experts from the fields of International Cooperation, professional practice, and research. It is further strengthened by the support of a wide network of Partners, including Multilateral Organisations, Foundations, and national and international NGOs.
As part of the programme, all students will take part in a two-week on-the-ground Workshop in El Salvador, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic real-world context. Moreover, all expenses for travel, flights, insurance, accommodation, and local transportation are fully included in the programme fee.
To further strengthen your professional opportunities, an internship or a project work is guaranteed for every student. If you choose the internship, you’ll have the flexibility to decide where to complete it, ensuring the experience aligns with your career goals and future aspirations.
